[mainly] In a recent debate (with both Twitter users and [ @ monstaakid ] [ @ kaesae], entry point: http://bit.ly/fMNsYQ ) have a few "rules" and "experiences" with respect on Twitter [Twitter.com] gratitude made or crystallized. In the course of the conversation I have numbered them so that it got the appearance of a "Guide for Twitter .
A more or less "rough list of these points follows directly after. A little later I would like to respond to the various categories detailed and explain each point in more detail.
A detailed elaboration of this complex issue requires the separation in at least two contributions : a contribution will deal with the " be created concepts . A further contribution (after a few days later) is concerned with the " concepts of experience and learning .
Prior was also mentioned that the below list is not exhaustive of the concepts. It was, in the course of my current "Twitter-life" are identified and documented. In proposing any extension (of the individual concepts), I ask the gentle reader, contact me record.
The "Ur-list" for looks, the idea for this series of articles as follows: raussuchen
- interesting twitter user and communicate with those
- even interesting tweets Create
- honesty!
- presence is also important: Sounds silly, but "Be there for your followers":) /
- Stay yourself!
- If you follow users that interest you, you will not be bland and you always learn something new
- you will be motivated, comforted, your followers feel with you ... :) that's great; D
- you'll receive more news on topics that interest you
- you can actively in the whole "group dynamics twitter" (eg in your network) shape:) / /
- admit mistakes - their own vulnerabilities found - other users "Complement")
Starting from the list above, one could then divide the interaction with Twitter into two categories: Creating and Experiencing / learners . I tried to map these two parts as good as possible in the following graphic.
Following is the graph the textual description of each item. I try all the areas both to the human, to describe and on the technical level. Thus, to ensure that both aspects (human and machine) discussed enough in all areas and with each other be connected. " was
In terms of visibility here, a restriction made: In the first part of this "Twitter Rules" is aware of the "public profiles", ie the profiles that can be pursued only through direct consent of the owner and viewed, abstracted . I refer the below set out "instructions" first on the "open access" and readable for all users profiles.
Create
The following section deals with the "be created concepts" of Twitter.
Search / consequences
After you've registered with Twitter, one goes first to the Search . One searches for Twitter profiles that seem "appealing". This can happen for various motives. You may be looking for specific people: celebrities, old acquaintances, friends, classmates, schoolmates, .... . You can be on the lookout for information: information on topics of interest or on current issues. Once you have found this (for himself personally interesting) Twitter profiles, will be them initially follow. From now on, you get all the information published on this User, delivered conveniently to your own personalized start page. Depending on the settings of the user followed will receive a notification that a new member is accepted. This notification is optional (you can not therefore assume that a Twitter user will notice immediately that he is being followed!).
The counterpart of the episodes is "Unfollow" -> the updating of the respective users are on your own page (the so-called Time Line) disappear.
communication
The next Step toward the "passive tracking" is communication. Many Twitter users skip this point: they do not communicate with other users. However, the point is
"communication", in my experience, one of the most important aspects of Twitter. Only through communication can occur (more complex, goal-directed) talks and discussions with other users. The result of the communication is the creation of new knowledge and new information. This knowledge and this information is based partly on grosz three components: the previous knowledge (from other Twitter conversations or individual Tweets), the (latent) knowledge of the individual members and discussion of the environment.
works technically, this type of communication about Twitter in several ways: there is the direct and indirect communication and some Masz to noise .
Direct communication
Direct communication involves reply to Tweets (Reply) , the mention of Twitter users (Mention) and Send an Instant Message (DM - direct message).
The mention of Twitter users is the tweet directly directed to the above person.
In reply to tweets a tweet to the creator of the Urspungstexts is written. This is done technically by the mention of the creator and the deposit of the previous tweets (in the database of the system). By directly responding to Tweets (eg discussions) ensures that the entire conversation can be tracked between the participants.
Sending direct messages (direct messages) is permitted if the recipient to the sender already follows. A Twitter user who does not follow the transmitter can thus get no news of this. The difference with the previous two methods (mention and reply) is that a DM only on the receiver (up to one recipient!) can be obtained and read. The two previously mentioned methods of communicating directly generate information that can be read by all users.
Indirect communication
Indirect communication is characterized by the fact that the knowledge of an initial sender is further processed by a receiver without the original sender so (now) will notice. On Twitter this is the "retweet" and the "favor" of tweets. When ReTweet a Tweet (ideally) 1:1 (as it was by the author entered into the system) in the timeline of the Users who retweetable inserted. The (formerly old) information is so refreshed and strengthened. Bookmark When a tweet from another user is marked as "favorite". In most cases this means a kind of recognition of the tweets (or an acknowledgment of the contents of tweets) - purely for communication purposes, this means above all a strengthening of the message in the receiver (the one who favors the tweet).
noise
In a further conversation on the Twitter platform, where a definition for a phenomenon, which I here call the "background noise". Based on their own (current) interests are in the timeline Tweets again, so please show up, which for the user are not relevant. This information comes from users but, which one has previously been followed - for whatever reason - the user followed, which currently produces (subjective) noise, is or was for the pursuers still quite interesting. It is now able to filter this noise - the best (for now) indirectly - by the "non-Warhnehmung" of the tweets that generate the noise.
activity
To be active on Twitter, you have to invest more or less time. The increasing number of users also requires a rising flood of information, the likelihood that their own information lost in the flood, is probably always larger.
honesty
An important point in the Twitter-life is honesty. It is expected from the followings honesty and so should also be honest enough even to his persecutors. Twitter is primarily an appreciative environment for all users to be - because honesty is an important factor.
If we are honest to their persecutors is (or can be), you'll find some effects:
- The respect and respect for you grows tracker opposite.
- confidence pursuer you rise opposite.
- The constant honesty, the number of pursuers. Because that can "make picture of you", the potential persecutors already from your previous tweet, the residence of the persecutors will be larger ones (the "Unfollow is minimized) - the user can already do such a good picture of you . If you're dishonest, you will attract in the first place (through clever "self marketing") a lot of users - but these users are moving more and more once they see your "true self".
presence
presence is possibly a sub-category of "activity" - but I would like to discuss this point here separately.
activity is "in principle" meant - an active Twitter user will do several (or many) more or less interesting (subjektiv!) status updates per day. A real "presence", this results not in the first place.
presence means to me, "for the Twitter users and the whole Twitter community to be there." This is situationsabhaengig (which in turn is a difference to "pure" activity) is: Over time (Twitter-time) there will be users that you "need." It is crucial at this moment, that you stand for those users at the right moment with the "right tools" available . The following types of presence I've already found out, even identified, or even self-claimed:
- help with a specific task
- help with a generalized question (# Followerpower)
- Smalltalk
- consolation, encouragement, spells
- pastime
- "collaboration" as the joint development of pre-defined themes
- direct flow of information (direct questions to various "gurus "precisely in order to obtain concrete responses from a particular user)
- opinion or obtaining the views of other users
authenticity
This aspect is closely related to the item" honesty " used. However, here I go one step further: Not only is it the honesty (which you comply with the communication with the twitter users), which is important. Much more important is (almost) nor that you are "yourself".
Be yourself [on Twitter]!
A first step is honesty: honest honest words and actions. the next step is the "you-self-being."
A man who follows you on Twitter.com, will have chosen by its (initial) search very well you because he is reading your Tweets honest. The same user will appreciate it more if you behave you get natural - so how would you do it in real life!
As abschlieszendes statement I want four more lines, insert (and all people realize that Twitter) describes well the Twitter. We read again in the second part! J
If you do well on it - share it with us!
If you're in a bad mood - share it with us!
short: Please let us know how you are.
We will respect you as well.
